Bookings are open for 2024
With bases in Taynuilt, Argyll and in Central Scotland, Sea Spirit Kayaking is your partner in helping you to realise your ambitions. Whether new to Sea Kayaking and looking to build strong foundations skills, or seeing to improve as you develop as an intermediate paddler, Sea Spirit is for you. With our detailed knowledge of Scotland's world beating outdoors, Sea Spirit Kayaking can be your guide to exploring our dramatic coastline and islands on single and multi-day trips. We can also deliver personal canoe/kayak performance awards to help you benchmark your progress, including the new Sea Kayak Award that has recently replaced the 3 Star award.
Our approach is to work with our clients to build a package designed around them, beginning with an understanding of their ambitions and current skills. Sea Spirit will work with at most two clients at any one time, thereby ensuring a dedicated and personal coaching and guiding experience. Whilst our home is Scotland, we can also work with you to chase your paddling dreams in other parts of the world such as Norway or Alaska.
Programmes include: Introduction to Sea Kayaking, Intermediate Sea Kayaking, Sea Spirit Safari (nature tours), and Sea Spirit Tours (including overnight camping). We will, however, work with you to plan the detail, as nothing is "off the shelf."
We can also offer bespoke personal development and coaching support using the medium of sea kayaking. Paddle your way to wellbeing, learn about yourself, or reflect on your priorities - these are all things with which we can help.
Sea Spirit Kayaking is part of Steve Bell Coaching and Consulting Limited. Owned and operated by Steve Bell, a Level 3 Performance Sea Kayak Coach, Sea Kayak Leader and executive and leadership coach with over 25 years experience in health and wellbeing, Sea Spirit Kayaking can create the journey to a better you.

Equipment
You don't really require any special equipment of your own, but if you have your own paddling gear then great. If not, comfortable outdoor clothing and a hat, and a pair of wellingtons, crocs or trainers that you don't mind getting wet, will generally suffice. Some dry clothing and a towel for when we come off the water is a good idea, though unless we are deliberately looking at skills such as rolling or rescues, where a wetsuit would be recommended, the plan will be to remain relatively dry. A quality waterproof paddling top can be provided if needed to keep the rain and splashes at bay.
Composite North Shore Sea Kayaks, quality paddles (ie Werner and Lendal), spray decks and Personal Floatation Devices can all also be provided, and advice can be given for those seeking to purchase their own.
We will take breaks, so you should bring snacks and something to drink such as water and a flask of of tea or coffee . You will also need a packed lunch for a full day paddle. You should also carry sunblock and hand-sanitiser.
You can certainly bring a camera too, though if it isn't waterproof we would recommend you keep it in a waterproof case or bag while you are on the water. Don't worry! We will take plenty of photo and video to remind you of your experience.
Fees
Fees are to some extent dependent on the nature and location of the experience sought but will start at £150/day for one person or £250/day for two. Given the current cost of fuel we will also need to charge 25p/mile for journey's in excess of 25 miles, however, as we can offer transport from our base this means you will not need to use your own vehicle.
How to Book
Please book your preferred experience using the relevant ticket. This will give us a good general idea of what you are looking for, but we will plan the detail with you.
If you are booking 7 days or less in advance, it is strongly advised that you phone prior to booking. Similarly, if you want to chat through what you are looking for before booking, please get in touch. You can email on seaspirit@bell.scot or call me on 07789693408.
